Cardi B has given birth to her third child and announced the arrival of her new daughter on Instagram on Thursday.
“The most beautiful little thing 🌸🌸 9/7/24 💖💖💖,” wrote the “Bodak Yellow” rapper on the platform. Cardi, 31, shared her daughter’s birth date and posted a series of hospital photos, including one of herself breastfeeding and others of her family doting on the newborn. The baby’s name has not been revealed yet.
Cardi’s post also hinted that she and her estranged husband, Offset, were on civil terms, as he was featured in the photos along with their two other children, daughter Kulture, 6, and son Wave, 2. (The Migos rapper, 32, also has three children from previous relationships.) On August 1, the Grammy-winning emcee announced her pregnancy, sharing photos of her baby bump on Instagram. “With every ending comes a new beginning,” she wrote, expressing her excitement for the new addition.
“You have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all!” she continued. “You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and cannot wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do!”
Cardi made this announcement amidst reports of her potential divorce from Offset, whom she married in 2017, and rumors of her seeking primary custody of their children. According to TMZ, her divorce documents confirmed that Offset is the father of her third child. The outlet reported that the co-parents were not reconciling.
The “WAP” and “I Like It” rapper initially filed for divorce from Offset in 2020 but withdrew the petition a couple of months later. Speculation about their divorce resurfaced this summer after Cardi B told fans in December that she had “been single for a minute.” In an Instagram Live last year, she addressed rumors of infidelity surrounding her husband and stated that she didn’t believe them and didn’t “care to find out.”
In the December 2023 video, she also hinted at her desire for a “new life, a new beginning” in the new year.
