Skales, whose real name is Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, has made a claim that he contributed to writing many of Wizkid’s hit songs during their time at Empire Mates Entertainment, EME.
During an appearance on ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Skales disclosed that he co-wrote several tracks on Wizkid’s debut album, ‘Super Star,’ including the bonus track ‘Wiz Party.’
He did acknowledge that Wizkid also wrote songs for him, such as the hit ‘Mukulu.’
Skales stated, “During our time at EME, we worked as a team and often wrote songs for each other. I wrote songs for Wizkid, and he reciprocated by writing songs for me as well.”
“He wrote ‘Mukulu’ for me, and I wrote his song ‘Wiz Party.’ As I mentioned, EME was all about teamwork.”
Wizkid and Skales were among the initial artists signed to EME by R&B star and music executive Banky W in the early 2010s.
The record label played a significant role in propelling the singers into the spotlight.
Subsequently, both artists parted ways with the label following a series of disagreements with Banky W.
During an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu a few years ago, Banky W disclosed that, based on the original contract, Wizkid owed EME three albums.
