On June 2, 2024, Tems’ recent performance on the Tiny Desk stage was featured by NPR. During this performance, she presented compositions from her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Born In The Wild’ accompanied by a live band. The set commenced with ‘Me & U,’ a single nominated for the Best Gospel/Inspiration song category at the 2024 BET Awards. She followed with a rendition of ‘Ice T’ from her debut EP, ‘For Broken Ears,’ and unveiled an unreleased RnB track titled ‘Unfortunate’ from her forthcoming album.
Additionally, Tems introduced ‘Forever,’ a composition encompassing elements of Funk, Jazz, and Rumba, providing insight into the sonic palette of ‘Born In The Wild.’ Concluding the performance with the latest single ‘Love Me Jeje,’ which features a sample from the classic Nigerian song by Seyi Sodimu & Shaffy Bello, Tems added another remarkable appearance to her Tiny Desk repertoire. This performance was part of NPR’s tribute to Black Women, with Tems being one of nine Black female artists featured on the Tiny Desk stage.
‘Born In The Wild’ is scheduled for release on June 7, 2024, featuring 18 tracks with guest appearances from Nigerian Grammy-nominated artist Asake and American hip hop star J Cole.
